Improving health care for the citizens of our community

Since 1999, Ocean Beach Hospital Foundation has worked to improve health care for the citizens of our community. We do this by managing charitable contributions, raising funds for specific projects and providing community education. Over the past 25 years, we have raised over $1,000,000 in support of Ocean Beach Hospital.

During 2023, the Ocean Beach Hospital Foundation accomplished the following:

  • Raised over $13,000 of the $60,000 needed for updated lighting in the operating room
  • Awarded three scholarships totaling $2,500 to graduating Ilwaco and Naselle high school students committed to healthcare studies
  • Celebrated OBHMC’s hardworking employees by sponsoring a coffee cart and the annual tree lighting celebration
  • Donated $2,000 to enhance the physical therapy department thanks to our designated giving fund
  • Established an endowed fund with the Pacific Community Foundation, which enables the Hospital Foundation to generate funds in perpetuity to finance efforts that may be beyond the reach of the hospital’s operating budget.

2024 Goals and Plans

  • Double the scholarships awarded to high school students
  • Continue to raise funds to “Light Up the O.R.!”
  • Provide welcome bags for the residents of WSU School of Medicine’s Internal Medicine Residency Program
  • Host employee appreciation events
  • Support community events such as Slow Drag, and plan activities to increase awareness for direct donation and endowed giving

We enthusiastically contribute to OBHF because this organization alerts us to specific areas of urgent need for capital investment and priorities for improvement in our OB hospital facilities and operations. We would not otherwise know of unmet financial needs or gaps in capacity for such a critical resource for our community's well-being. We trust OBHF to be vigilant in highlighting opportunities for maintaining an excellent local healthcare system!"
