The ability to communicate with staff and patients in a friendly, caring and professional manner is critical to be successful in this position. This position requires you to be on your feet and moving at a fast pace. A positive and friendly attitude as well as being a team player is a must. This position requires the nurse to work in any nursing position, including Charge Nurse, as appropriate.  The days and assignments may vary depending on the week.  A person in this position must be able to manage staff and work with all departments in a professional and courteous manner.  The position may be required to cover the Floor, Emergency Room, Float, Chemotherapy and Outpatients.  Patient triage and the ability to multitask is a must.  During the shift, the person in this positon will need to take direction from the Charge Nurse on duty while working in various positions.  As the Charge Nurse, you will take direction from the Clinical Nurse Manager.  The person in this position will need to be flexible and able to change direction to fill in where needed at any given time.

Past Charge Nurse, Med/Surg, Chemo, ER and Triage experience preferred, able to work well independently as well as a team.  Good professional communication skills, both written and verbal, is a must.
