Cooks are responsible for ensuring that the Dietary standards of customer service align with out Values of Excellence, Partnership, Integrity, and Compassion by acting as a liaison between the Hospital and the patients, the general public, and the medical community. They are primarily responsible for providing quick and efficient service to customers. This includes but is not limited to greeting customers, taking food/beverage orders in person and by phone, ringing the order into the register, and preparing and serving orders. Assembling and serving orders, checking them for completeness and accuracy, packaging orders for on-premise or take out, collecting payments from customers, making change and maintaining the cleanliness of the department.
Excellent customer service skills are crucial in this role. Must be able to use email and use an internet based education system. Must have the ability to work with people in a pro-active and constructive manner. Must be able to correctly prepare diets to physician’s orders. Cooks are responsible for identifying areas for process improvement and developing recommendations for solutions, resolving customer service issues, conducting analysis for the department as necessary and performing other specific job duties as required.
