Foundation/Marketing & Communication Specialist – Full Time

We have a strong network of primary care and subspecialty providers on staff including a full-time Oncology Infusion program. The hospital works toward constantly improving its facilities and acquiring new technology to keep pace with the advances of health care.

Position Summary/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is preferred, or equivalent prior experience.
  • 3 years of experience in development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Impress, or other print production software preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundraising practices and/or healthcare marketing/communication practices
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop, track and manage program budgets.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Foundation Components:
Leads the efforts of the Ocean Beach Hospital Foundation (OBHF) as directed by the OBHF Board, and is responsible for planning and administering the comprehensive fundraising programs. Provides oversight and coordination of operations, special events and fundraising activities sponsored by the OBHF, and writes grants, does and coordinates solicitations and manages all fundraising marketing and correspondence. Responsibilities also include preparation of the OBHF annual strategic plan and budget with approval of the OBHF Board, as well as the creation/maintenance of the OBHF’s donor database systems.

Marketing and Communication Components:
At the direction of the CEO, leads the Marketing and Communication efforts of Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics (OBHMC), and is responsible for planning and administering the annual marketing and communication plan. Responsibilities include maintenance of the web-site, creation and management of advertisement, newspaper also include preparation of the OBHMC annual strategic plan and budget.

Supports foundation and hospital mission and strategic vision; manages foundation and hospital resources appropriately; complies with foundation and hospital policies and programs; maintains skill levels, licenses, and certifications; complies with all state and federal Compliance and HIPAA requirements; keeps lines of communication open between self and other personnel; competent with computer programs; proper telephone etiquette and appropriate personal interaction; shows professional respect and courtesy to patients, families, physicians or colleagues; must be able to work well with others.
